I was feeling like I wanted to do something “crafty”. With one hour of free time, I decided to make some Bottle Cap Magnets.
{Shhh, don’t tell anyone but I still need to buy the magnets!}
My toddler even helped put all the 1 inch photo circles in the bottle caps for me.
Here is what they look like:
I saved candy bar wrappers for possible crafts, and punch 4 of those too! I love to re-purpose pretty garbage.
Materials:
1. Bottle Caps. A couple years ago, I ordered 100 silver bottle caps on Ebay for a very cheap price. {I won’t be running out of those very soon.}
3. Paper art. You can use scrapbook paper, print your own designs, or like me you can browse Etsy. I found a seller located near me who sells 1 inch circle art for bottle caps or whatever craft you need a 1 inch picture for. I got Native American photos.
4. Craft Casting Epoxy I found mine at Micheal’s at a good price with a 40% off coupon.
Instructions:
- Punch your 1 inch picture
- Place at bottom of bottle cap
- Mix epoxy according to instructions
- Pour epoxy into bottle cap
- Get rid of air bubbles (I used a restaurant chopstick)
- Set overnight
- Attach a magnet on back
What is fun, is you can personalize these anyway you like. The possibilities are endless.

What a fun DIY, great way to upcycle those bottle caps for a greater purpose. Love the candy bar ones.
