As we are preparing and enduring the first trimesterof our second child, I am brought back to memories of the birth of our first child – My Princess, Isabella.
I chose a midwife with a Birth Center {basically a home that she had turned into a birthing center} across the street from a hospital.
My pregnancy was a good pregnancy. No major morning sickness and no bed rest. I worked full time until my Princess was born. I remember my appointments with the midwife and hearing my baby girl’s heartbeat for the first time.
I remember seeing the ultrasound photos and thinking this was a beautiful baby. {I was right!}
I worked until the Friday before my Princess was born. I went on a long walk with my husband up and down hills on Saturday. Then early Monday night at 3am I awoke with a strange feeling. And I knew. This was it. I was going into labor.
I tried to sleep but a bit uncomfortable and more than excited, I could not. I got out of bed at 5am to move around…
