We travel a lot. If you have been reading my blog, you know this. Eight months out of the year we are traveling all over North America. Some times it is a difficult life, but usually we have a lot of fun. We really get to see a lot of the country and do some awesome family friendly things.
One thing on our to do list is a family cruise. We have not been on a family cruise yet. Many people don’t realize that you can actually depart for various family cruises from New York City. We have actually been to New York City before we had our Princess and we had a lot of fun. We had long days walking around and visiting so many great sites around New York City. Riding the subway and learning some routes was fun as well.
I can imagine how much more fun we’d now have if we took our Princess and Little Man with us. For families that are interested in taking a cruise from New York City, I highly suggest turning the family cruise into a mini-vacation out of their time spent in NYC before the cruise ship leaves.
There are so many things to do in New York City before you depart on a family cruise. Many of the tourist activities that my husband and I enjoyed would easily be enjoyed by families. Here are just a few options you can do with your family:
- See a Broadway Show
- Visit the Statue of Liberty
- Visit Ellis Island (our personal favorite)
- Try out some of NYC Best Restaurants
- Visit some of New York City’s children’s museums
- Take a trip to FAO Schwarz
- Go to the top of the Empire State Building
Have you been to New York City before? With children?
What were some of the favorite things you did?
