With the holidays literally right around the corner, I wanted to share a post of tricks and treats with you. I know we all get so busy with kids, school, jobs, church, and so much more, it is easy to get so stressed during the holidays. Below you will find 5 Holiday Tricks that can help you and 5 easy Holiday Treats that you can make.
5 Holiday Tricks:
Get your kids involved. Put them to work. I often allow my daughter to help wipe down the counters, sinks and door handles when cleaning. She loves to help, {I hope that never changes!} and it saves me some time when cleaning for holiday guests. – Angela @ About a Mom.
Make less food options. If you have to prepare food for family during the holidays don’t get out of control. I know it is easy to find so many great holiday recipes on Pinterest but it will be much easier to make 3 or 5 things in larger quantities. -Amanda @ The Frugal Greenish Mama
Make food ahead of time. Canning and freezing work well for this. Remember when I made canned apple pie filling? I will utilize these quarts during the holidays for sure! Also freeze breads – we have a close family friend who begins making her famous banana bread months before the holidays. Then, she just pulls it out for gifts right before Christmas.
Host a Buffet or Potluck – assign food to your family members. Don’t cook everything yourself. – Cariann @ Unionvale Mom’s Spot
Create a travel box – if you are not hosting holiday dinner but are instead traveling to see family then create a travel box for the kiddies. Include snacks and dry erase markers for continued fun. – Amber @ Jade Louise Designs

With two kids I need recipes that are quick and easy. I have two dump cake recipes coming up on my blog for a sponsored post. I noticed your dump cake recipe last night (apple, right?) It looked great!

We love the no bake Reese’s Squares! I make them all the time when we have a sweet tooth and I don’t feel like making a huge mess in the kitchen.

I have not had them yet, Jessica, but they are so on my Christmas goodies list of things to make!

My favorite holiday tip is to present shop ahead of time! It saves so much time when it gets closer to Christmas. (I’ve already got a nice stash going for my daughter!) Plus, “Host a Buffet or Potluck” is an awesome tip. I did that last year for a party I hosted and it took so much weight off my shoulders.

I love the idea of preparing foods ahead. I did that when I was prenant around the holidays- just in case! I’ve never canned apple pie filling, but that’s a great idea I’m going to try.
