My resolution every year is to get closer to Jesus than I was the year before. I want to be like Jesus and I want others to see Jesus living in me. The new Believe NIV topical Bible from Randy Frazee is a great way to meet that resolution.
About Believe NIV
Believe includes short topical passages from the NIV Bible, unlocking the 10 key beliefs, 10 key practices, and 10 key virtues that help people live the story of the Bible. This hardcover Bible breaks this 30-week Scripture experience into three 10-week sections that help you learn the core truths of the Christian Faith.
I appreciate how the Believe, NIV is topically arranged. The ten chapters in the three sections: What Do I Believe, What Should I Do, and Who am I Becoming are so relevant to the Christian walk. I love practical books like this. The author uses scripture to discuss each section and chapter. We learn about God, Compassion, Worship, Spiritual Gifts, Patience, Humility and so much more.
Though I don’t agree with all of Frazee’s theology, I can truly appreciate the bulk of this work and apply it to my own life. The radical things that happened to the early Christians can happen today in us. That same Jesus is still alive and wants us to be more like Him! I don’t know about you, but I am struggling daily to be more like Jesus. This book enables me to stay in the word, but it reads more like a book than Bible. You won’t find much commentary here, it is NIV scripture compiled by topic — a really great topical Bible for the New Year and beyond.
