My husband and I will have our first trip away from both of your kids in less than two weeks! I am pretty excited. I love my kids, but man do I need a vacation! Three nights in Austin, Texas – just the two of us. Yippeee!!!
My husband loves to pack light. He packs his own suitcase and I have little say in what he brings. I usually bring a lot of outfits; I can never decide what I want to wear. But, this time with the heat of Austin in the end of June, I think I’ll bring summer dresses. I am usually the one responsible for our carry on luggage. I make sure the whole family has a lot of great things in our backpacks to keep us happy on airplane rides.
Who is responsible for packing your family’s carry-on luggage?
Here is what my husband will be getting in his carry-on. Trust me, he’ll be very pleased with it all:
Carry-On Essentials for Him
His carry-on essentials include:
- Magazines
- Book
- Personal DVD Player
- New and interesting DVD
- Gum
- Disinfecting Wipes
- Hand Sanitizer
- Headache Medicine
- Snacks
The first thing our family does when we get on an airplane is wipe down the arm rest and tray with disinfecting wipes. That is number one. We take out all our goodies and place them in the pockets in front of us so they are always available to use throughout the flight.
What are your carry-on essentials?
A perfect match: airplane rides and snacks. My husband and I always pack snacks – even before we had kids. Getting fun treats is just part of the flight experience for our entire family. Thankfully, my husband’s favorite snack option comes in a handy travel-friendly 2-pk. The OREO 2-pack is perfect for our busy summer bucket list of activities and travel. Enjoy the OREO 2-pack while running errands, carpooling, or taking those road trips!

I am the carry-on packer, be it for car or plane. I had not seen these Oreo two packs yet – they are perfect for a snack!

They are new, Maggie. My husband is super excited. We brought them with us in the RV for our 11 day trip and they have been a hit.

It’s always a great idea to have snacks on a flight.

I always pack a book and some music, but I bring snacks too…since you can’t count on airlines to feed you decently anymore.
LaVonne says
That’s right! We almost never eat the airlines snacks – they are so small too. I always bring snacks for ourselves. The OREO 2-pack is a great sweet treat – just the right size.
