Because, my husband’s family lives in San Diego, CA we’ve always loved taking our kids down there for a great kid-friendly vacation. It’s a great way to enjoy the sunshine and attractions and also to visit family.
With 70 miles of beaches, world-class attractions like the San Diego Zoo and SeaWorld, and year-around mild temperatures, it’s no wonder San Diego consistently ranks among the top destinations for family vacations.
There is just so much to do in San Diego. It really is a great family-friendly vacation destination. Our family still has so much more to experience in San Diego. We now have a San Diego family travel bucketlist.
Our San Diego, CA Vacation Favorites
We’ve been visiting San Diego since Isabella was a baby and we do have our favorites. They includes visits to:
- San Diego Zoo
- Safari Park
- Legoland
- Sea World
- Mission Beach
Since my husband surfs and my kids love the beach, visiting the beach in San Diego is always a must. Plus, it’s free family fun. My kids really love Legoland too. My sister-in-law lives really close to this location and it’s a must-see attraction for our family. We can’t wait to go back. We’re big theme park lovers here.
San Diego, CA Travel Bucketlist
Here are the seven places we’d still like to visit in San Diego with our children:
- Birch Aquarium
- The New Children’s Museum
- San Diego Air & Space Museum
- Oceanside Adventures Luxury Cruise
- Old Town Trolley Tour
- Children’s Discovery Museum
- Murder n Mayhem Adventure Hunt
My kids love the Aquarium in Tacoma so I know they’d love to visit the Birch Aquarium. When we have visited cities across the country, we always like to visit the children’s museums. So for our family travel bucketlist you’ll see two children’s museums listed. Isabella and I took a cruise here in the Salish Sea and saw Orca whales. I’d love to take the whole family on a cruise in San Diego to see humpback whales. Since we just recently enjoyed a live dinner theater show, I think the family would absolutely love an Adventure Hunt.
We would also enjoy camping, horseback riding, biking, and parks. With such great weather in San Diego, all those fun outdoor activities are enjoyable.
Have you visited San Diego? If so, what are your favorite places for kids?
