My kids love technology. They love their tablets and game players both. So, when a great smart toy comes along that will work with the iPad and incorporate physical play (phygital is the word!) I knew it would be a hit. In fact, the biggest issue was getting my five year old to let his big sister try the new toys out.

As a parent, I love any chance to introduce my kids to iPad STEM learning. The Magik Play game by Magikbee is a great fusion of digital and real world play — phygital. (You learned a new word!) With the included apps, children will strengthen core skills like:

Magik Play is a smart and fun set of games for both of my kids. There are three apps we downloaded for this smart toy: Hidden Shape, Dino Blocks, and Runaway. Nate loved Dino Blocks best but he did try to play all three. I love that my son is using physical and mental skills when he is playing with these real wooden blocks. He flew through each level pretty quickly at first, but then the challenges began. Finding the right shape gets more difficult and that was when his big sister started helping him. After preschool ended this last school year, we were told to work on his fine motor skills. I am so glad he now has a fun learning toy that can help him improve these important skills. I also love that the magik blocks don’t need batteries, wires or pairing. They are all ready to play.
