Isabella is starting to want to help clean. She has been obsessed with the dishwasher for over a month now but usually she is trying to take things out instead of load it.
She also loves when I do laundry. When I throw things in the dryer from the washing machine I purposely put socks or her clothes on the door of the dryer so she can throw them in too. She loves it. Now if I can just get her to stop unfolding the laundry when it is done.
This week I caught her trying to clean her toy. She had my paper towel from lunch and she was wiping a dirty spot on her toy. It was cute.
Today, when we were in the bathroom she grabbed a piece of toilet paper, (her goal in the bathroom is to pull on the toilet paper roll), and I said “Isabella put it in the garbage” and without hesitation she put it in the garbage can.
We have a bag beside her doll house that is for her little people and furniture. When we are done playing I start putting the pieces in the bag. I ask her to help, and she helps now.
When I pull out the vacuum cleaner, she used to be afraid of it, but now she wants to help push it. I think I might get her her own toy vacuum cleaner to push around when mommy is vacuuming.
I can’t sweep the kitchen right now though, she wants to play in the pile of dirt and crumbs. So that is something daddy does when we are still asleep.
When I change her diaper she wants a wipe and she tries to wipe herself. I think it is cute. We did buy her a potty chair. When she sits on it for a little while I give her a wipe and she tries to wipe. She hasn’t gone potty in it yet.
Now I need to start scheming on how she can do more of these household chores. Now, before she starts asking for an allowance. ๐
