Thank you Tech Timeout for sponsoring today’s discussion.
I was given a challenge. The Tech Timeout™ challenge. From Friday September 6th through Sunday September 8th I signed up to take one hour away from technology per day. That sounds easy right? I thought it did. But, I am so connected to my laptop and iPhone that even one hour per day had to be intentional on my part. I have already learned by experience that parenting, Christian living and family time all needs to be intentional. Carving out the time for these very important things means stepping back from the clutter of life and putting what is most important first.
But… I will be the first to admit that I am addicted to my Gmail, Facebook, Pinterest, Instagram, and now I just started getting into Polyvore (as if I need something else). This Tech Timeout™ enabled me to take some much needed planned time away from all the technology and be present.
WHAT is Tech Timeout™?
The Tech Timeout challenge started by Foresters encourages families to take a daily break from technology. Participating families are encouraged to disconnect from all things electronic with the goal of helping spouses, parents and children build stronger bonds, communicate more personally and get more involved in each other’s lives.
TAKE ACTION. TAKE PART IN A Tech Timeout™.
Won’t you pledge to take a Tech Timeout™ for at least an hour a day?
This would be great for my family room
With the winter season coming, and the snow days…this prize would be great for our family nights around the fireplace

I’m dying for a tech timeout – I hope I can take a day off from work eventually to do so. LOL!
I appreciate the fact that more and more people are noticing that most families really do need a tech timeout
I loved this inspiration!

I’m inspired to communicate better in person rather than through technology!
I appreciate The Pledge! I really need to work on this more and so does every person in my family, so I’m going to take it seriously for all of us.. but I’m going to up the stakes! Tech Free for 3 hours a night every night for a week! Our family really needs this 🙂

I was inspired by the suggestion to turn your phones off at dinner.
I learned they have a printable pledge to hang in your home.
Thank YOU & CONGRATS EVERYONE! =)
