Chips and salsa is one of those appetizers that our entire family loves. We are big tortilla chips fans. We buy the big bag of organic tortilla chips at Costco every week it seems. So making salsa and having a variety of dips in the house is important.
One current family favorite is homemade Tomatillo Salsa – lovely green salsa!
What’s your favorite salsa?
With only 4 main ingredients in our Tomatillo Salsa – it is easy to make, affordable and so tasty.
What is a Tomatillo?
A Tomatillo is a fruit that is surrounded by an inedible husk. Peel that husk back to reveal firm fruit. The Tomatillo is used in many Mexican and Central American green sauces.
Tomatillo Salsa Ingredients
- 10 Tomatillos, peeled and washed
- 1 bunch of cilantro
- 1 jalapeno (or more if you want it spicier)
- Juice of 2 Limes
- Garlic powder, to taste
- Salt, to taste
I use a food processor for this recipe. I literally throw in all the above ingredients and pulse together. My entire family enjoyed it this time because I didn’t make it too spicy. Next time, I want to add more jalapeno.
