I am waiting for a calm, mellow day to occur where I can just sit on my couch and watch TV, swim at the adult pool in our community and read a book. That’s it. It is honestly my idea of a perfect summer day. But as a mother to two young children, I live a fast paced on the go life. Today, I was super hungry at 4 pm and I realized that I didn’t eat lunch. The rest of my family did but somehow I got so busy I didn’t. Thankfully, I have a great on the go snack that I can depend on. {More about that below!}
Here’s a glimpse into our week:
This last week we flew to San Diego to stay at the Welk Resort for a family reunion. We stayed outside all day and got a lot of sunshine. I couldn’t seem to catch up on my sleep all week. But the entire family had fun.
Do you need a vacation from your vacation? I always seem to.
I know, I have a hard life don’t I? #FirstWorldProblems
On Saturday, we went to Moonlight Beach in Encinitas for the Switchfoot Bro-Am with about 10K other people and had a great time. There was a surfing competition and also a few bands playing. Switchfoot ended the day at 4pm with their own one hour show. It was awesome. But it was so busy!
We woke up Sunday morning quite early to catch a flight back to Seattle. It hit 90 in Seattle that day. We came from hot Southern California weather thinking we’d get a break at home but nope, we are having a heat wave in the Seattle area! Monday was spent doing errands almost all day. You know after you’ve been gone for a week that you must go shopping for food, pick up your mail, start playing catch up on your emails and blog work? It is never ending. Then, on top of that I still have 17 days left of Kindergarten Homeschool to teach. Yep, I am super busy! Which is why skipping lunch can be expected.
I know I have a blessed full life. I am just tired. Like all the time. Can you relate?
Here’s my secret for days when I don’t even have time to eat or to be honest days I feed my kids and don’t feed myself –> Lifechoice Energy Bars.
About Life Choice Bars
Life Choice Bars are yummy, naturally flavored bars that come in four categories: wellness, protein, meal bar, and the one I tried – energy. ‘Cause let’s face it, I need all the energy I can get! These bars are nutritious and complement any lifestyle. The energy snack bar is the perfect bar for late afternoon when I am feeling tired and need a boost. The protein, carbs, and sugar provide me with that little kick that can get me through the day.
Where to Buy Life Choice
Life Choice Bars are available exclusively at Walmart. You can find Life Choice Bars on the cereal aisle for a very affordable price. The Life Choice energy bar comes in Chocolate Fudge Brownie or Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip.
What do you do mid-day to get an energy boost?
Try Life Choice Energy Bars next time!

I like more protein in my bars, but I lift weights so I need it to rebuild muscle. This would work well for a busy mom on the go.
LaVonne says
Erin, they do have a Protein variety too. You’ll have to check ’em out at Walmart on the cereal aisle. I tried the energy one because that’s what I needed. The Protein PB Extreme bar has 21 g of protein in it! 🙂

(Chocolate Energy Snack Bar) These bars do sound great for those hecktick days when you just have no time to eat a bigger meal. Looks like everyone one had a good time for your family trip. LaVonne, you gotta remember to eat some little meals too!
LaVonne says
Yes, thank you June!

I haven’t tried the energy bars, but I really like the wellness bars!

I’d like to try that one next, Sara!

I always need a vacation from the vacation. It’s always go go go go. Going to pick me up some Life Choice Bars for our vacation next month to the Jersey Shore!

I am finally getting rested up after our vacation. It is always go go go, Alison! Have a great time on your vacation at Jersey Shore!

Hey! Your life sounds just like mine, always going. Its so funny how I feed everyone else, but forget to feed myself, that is how busy I am and it never fails that one of my friends will make a joke at “how much time I must have” not having to work a 9-5er. Oh boy does that open up a can of worms!!! These look delicious!!

People who don’t stay at home with kids have no idea how crazy, stressful, and busy a day can get. Plus, I homeschool and have a rambunctious two year old – life is crazy 🙂 But, I love my life. Thankful, for easy to grab products like energy bars!

Yeah I am a stay at home mom too and some think we sit and eat bon bons all day! Looks like a great snack for those busy days!

This bar looks super yummy. Mid day I always hit the energy slump and am ready for a nap. Sadly my boys are NOT thinking the same thought (no naps for them). So to combat the afternoon slump and pending Witching Hour… we usually hit our neighborhood park for fresh air and to get out any pending wiggles. 🙂

Sometimes I take a 15-30 minute nap to get a boost. Of course that is difficult when all three kids are home so I need all the energy boost I can get. Definitely drinking plenty of water and taking my vitamins during the summer.
LaVonne says
A nap would be great. But then, the kids might go wild (6, and 2). One day, it will be nice to say, “Hey kids, mommy is going to lay down for a bit. Be quiet.” Maybe that day will never come! 🙂

Aren’t vacations the worst for fitting in a snack when you’re on the go so much? These look like a great pick me up snack for the late afternoon when it’s not quite dinner time, but you’ve forgotten to eat lunch. #client
