Our governor has officially declared a drought here in Washington state for the first time in ten years. We’ve had less snow and rain than I can remember and so much beautifully warm sunshine. My kids have literally cried because the sun wouldn’t get out of their eyes in the minivan. You know you are from Washington when your kids cry over the sunshine. But, I love it. We’ve hit over 70 degrees here in Western Washington many times this Winter and Spring.

After a long day at the Washington State Spring Fair this past weekend, in 75 degree weather, we were all pretty tired. When you get home after a long day, the last thing you want to do is make dinner. Isn’t that the truth? But since it was still warm at five in the evening, we decided to continue the amazing day by doing something unusual: ice cream for dinner! You’ve got to live a little and just have dessert for dinner!

The kids and I made a trip to our local convenience store to check out our ice cream selections. Yes, this is how small our store is here in our little town. We went with a local Pacific Northwest ice cream brand in Vanilla and purchased some caramel sauce and candy to make our own special sundaes. Ice cream for dinner? That just might be the best idea I’ve had all week.
All of this warm weather means more warm weather treats — like ice cream, popscicles, iced drinks, and cold fruit salads. Normally, this time of year, I’d be suffering from teeth sensitivity to all the cold foods. Thankfully, I’ve been using Colgate Sensitive Toothbrush and Sensitivity Pen the past week. I can enjoy ice cream for dinner with my kids!
The Actis Enamel Pen blocks sensitivity at the source of pain. Simply: Brush, Apply, Go.
You can find the Colgate Sensitive Toothbrush and Sensitivity Pen at your local Fred Meyer (or Kroger affiliate store) on the Oral Care aisle. Mine was located on the top shelf. {Don’t forget to check for digital coupons!}
Do you suffer from teeth sensitivity?
NOw the boychild is all about ice cream for dinner. When it get a little warmer, I do plan on adding it to our desert menu.
What’s funny, is my son doesn’t really like ice cream. It was just the girls – my mom, sister, myself and my daughter. Go figure!
Oh, yum. Your bowls of ice cream look delicious!! My periodontist recently recommended I try sensitive toothpaste. I’ll have to check it out.
Chrysa – you must check it out. It is great. You use the softer bristles on the toothbrush for cleaning. The pen is to apply directly to the sensitive tooth. Very cool product!
Of COURSE you need to have ice cream for dinner sometime! I love doing stuff like that with my kids! Its a great surprise! My teeth are not sensitive, but as far getting nice clean teeth after ice cream OOHHH yeah that’s a must.
A BIG must, Jeanette. And yes, my seven year old was beyond happy to get ice cream for dinner. Her cousin was visiting us and he also got a bowl. It was a fun night!
I do suffer from sensitivity when it comes to my teeth, especially when I eat ice cream. I have to buy the sensitive toothbrushes and toothpaste too. And your ice cream treat looks too awesome!
You’ll have to try the Colgate Sensitive Toothbrush and Pen, Nicole. Let me know what you think about it!
A: Ice cream for dinner sounds great!
B: Colgate sensitive is great. It’s an excellent way to help with tooth sensitivity.
I couldn’t have said it any better, Melissa!
I will take ice cream for dinner any day! I am in Washington state too and we have had some higher than normal temps for this time of year, definitely ice cream weather.
It’s been nice to have the warm temps. Any excuse for ice cream for dinner, Shelly! 🙂
This is awesome and something I could definitely use indeed. I will be caring this pen around this summer for sure. The ice cream sundae looks so good.
I used to have sensitive teeth from too much whitening. That’s why I’m so glad that Colgate helps us enjoy our cold treats now! #client
Yes, I do suffer from teeth sensitivity! I’d love to try this Colgate and see how it works for me!
I think Ice Cream for dinner has to happen once in a while. My husband’s family has a lot of dentists, so they would be all for it — as long as we all brush well after. I suffer from sensitivity, so I have to be careful. I may have to try the Colgate Sensitive Pen.
