When you become a parent, life can get so busy and stressful. I am sad to say there are many times that quality prayer time gets put on the back burner in my life. My prayers become rote utterances that I repeat over and over. I am thankful that we serve a graceful and patient God — I know I don’t deserve it.
Prayer can accomplish what a willing God can accomplish. – The Battle Plan for Prayer
This is why I appreciate books like, The Battle Plan for Prayer by the Kendrick brothers. They give practical and powerful advice on how to build a life full of prayer. Becoming a prayer warrior is essential, in my opinion, for all Christians and I am glad that I have such a great resource on building up my own prayer life.

Plan for Prayer
This great books begins, stressing the importance of being intentional about prayer time. Plan for prayer. I love the simple checklist to starting your prayer life:
- Prayer Time
- Prayer Place
- Prayer List

Making a time for prayer can be difficult when you have two young children and a busy schedule. But, if you need to wake up early then set that time. Parenting is a tough business. We must be praying for our role to successfully parent in this secular world and also for the hearts of our children.
Practical Prayer Model: A.C.T.S.
This book is divided into six parts. In the second part, Basic Training, we are given very practical ways to pray. Though I’ve heard the A.C.T.S. prayer model many times I still love the simplicity and importance of it. If we spent even two minutes on each letter of this acronym we could take our prayers from barely a minute to 8 minutes.
- Adoration
- Confession
- Thanksgiving
- Supplication
The rest of the book addresses our personal walk with God, how to prayer, who to pray for, and what to do now that you are a prayer warrior. The appendix is a gold mine of prayer resources to help with your prayer plan. In appendix four we are given many examples of what to pray for when praying for certain people in our life. In addition to the examples, the author also gives us Bible verses to correspond.
For example, for your husband: pray that he will love the Lord with all his heart, mind, soul, and strength. (Matt. 22: 36-40). This appendix alone is going to drastically change my prayer time.

This is just what I need. I pray daily but not like I should. Every morning as soon as I got up I would worship, pray and read my bible. I slacked off and I have to do it again. I love the kendrick brothers so I know Id love this book. Thank you for the chance 🙂
