My kids are growing up in an amazing technologically advanced world. I can’t even compare it to my own childhood play or education. They both quickly pick up technology; it never ceases to amaze me!
Did you know that by 2018 there will be more than 8 million STEM (science, technology, engineering, math) jobs in the U.S.? It is estimated that 3 million of those jobs may go unfilled because of a lack of people with needed skills in STEM learning.

I provide my children their food, clothing, toys, and love but it is also important for them to learn about STEM subjects as well. Encouraging learning and providing environments for this learning is vital to great parenting, in my opinion. Thankfully, the Boys & Girls Clubs of America is providing necessary tools for kids across the US. Which makes it easier for parents as well.
Boys & Girls Clubs of America
Boys & Girls Clubs of America is ensuring that kids can learn without limits through My.Future, an exciting technology initiative. By introducing kids to the ever changing technology skills, they may be more likely to pursue a career in a STEM-related field. My.Future helps to teach club members the STEM learning skills they need to succeed in today’s technological world.
My.Future helps kids and teens:
- Understand their media world
- Identify and develop digital interests
- Earn certifications as they make progress
I visited the My.Future platform this week and it is a really cool site. In the “Essentials” section kids can learn how to start a blog, make a movie, edit Wikipedia, gaming, typing and so much more. Check out the video:
