My son loves riding bikes. He has been riding since he was 2 years old. We started him with a balance bike and now that he’s almost five, he’s ready for a size upgrade. He has been riding a 12″ bike but his knees are getting a little too close to the handlebars. We were so thankful to find a highly rated 16″ Schwinn bicycle for him on Amazon last week. We bought the 16″ Piston Bicycle in red for Nate. We love that the Schwinn SmartStart geometry creates the perfect fit and provides more control and stability for young riders. The seat and grips are designed smaller to fit a child’s proportions for a more comfortable ride. There is also a narrow pedal width which is sized to fit a child’s hips. The kid-specific saddle and relaxed seat tube angle allow proper leg extension for easier pedaling.
Nate loves the laser-printed seat and handlebar number plate. He feels like he’s riding a very fast bike. I love that I could order this bike from Amazon and ship it in two-days with Prime. My husband put it together within 30 minutes of it arriving. Nate could not wait to get outside and try it. It’s his first 16″ bike so he is touching with tippy toes but he really feels like a big boy.
Bike Trip Bingo
After riding bikes, I gave him a printable Bike Trip Bingo game card. He was able to mark off the things he saw while riding bikes. In our neighborhood we frequently see dogs, trees, birds and mailboxes. So he has a great chance of getting a BINGO. Each day I can give him a new card and see if he gets a BINGO. He loves this part of our bike ride too. We’re making bike riding more safe and more fun!
