When I was a girl, I had a classic set of Peter Rabbit books that I absolutely loved to read over and over. They were these small white hard cover books that I kept in the original box for years. I still have that set, packed away in my garage. I was excited to see there would be a live-action movie based on these great books. I knew that it’d be a movie that our whole family would enjoy. I wasn’t wrong.

Peter Rabbit, the mischievous and adventurous hero who has captivated generations of readers, now takes on the starring role of his own cute, contemporary comedy with attitude. In the film, Peter’s feud with Mr. McGregor (Domhnall Gleeson) escalates to greater heights than ever before as they rival for the affections of the warm-hearted animal lover who lives next door (Rose Byrne). James Corden, with playful spirit and wild charm, voices the character of Peter, alongside Margot Robbie, Elizabeth Debicki and Daisy Ridley voicing the roles of the triplets, Flopsy, Mopsy and Cotton-tail.

This movie came in the mail to our home on May Day (movie release day) and my kids were so excited. In addition to the movie I was also sent a great mailer of Mother’s Day contents as well; lots of fun gardening items. The kids asked to watch the movie that night for Family Movie night. Though they had already seen this title in the theater, they were excited to have their dad and I enjoy it too.
What I appreciated most was the lesson that you can’t do it all on your own, you need help from your loved ones. Peter Rabbit was fun and funny movie. And you know what? My son asked if we could watch it again the very next night. It’s a keeper!
