My kids saw the new Dora movie when it was in the theaters. I am blessed to have my parents only 1.5 miles away. They take my kids almost every weekend for the night. And they often take them to see kids movies in the movie theater.
I have great memories of Isabella watching Dora. It was her favorite cartoon. I even blogged about it almost a decade ago here and here. That was back when blogging was simply an online journal. (The good ole’ days!) So when I was asked to host a family movie night with a fun adventure kit — I knew both my kids would LOVE it.
About the new Dora Movie
Having spent most of her life exploring the jungle with her parents, nothing could prepare Dora for her biggest challenge yet – high school. When her parents mysteriously disappear while searching for the Lost City of Gold, Dora must swing into action and lead a group of ill-equipped high schoolers on a wild quest to save them. Hold on for a high stakes mission as Dora and her new friends navigate the jungle, outrun treasure hunters, and solve ancient puzzles to unlock the mystery of the fabled city.

Watch the Dora Trailer
The kids laughed their way through this movie. It was so much fun. Such a great adventure story. I liked all the nods to the old cartoon that we watched when my Isabella was 3. It made watching this movie even more enjoyable. A great feel-good family movie — a perfect family movie night pick for last weekend. I am glad that Nickelodeon is making live-action movie options for families like us!
