We all want a cleaner home but often do not have a lot of time to clean. The following are a few simple ways to get a cleaner home in just seven minutes. These are tips for cleaning, not picking up.
This means that you may need to spend those seven minutes doing your dishes or putting away laundry. But next time you have a quick phone call you need to make, or a few minutes before you need to run out the door, try implementing the following strategies for how to get a cleaner home in just seven minutes:
- Get rid of stinky smelly closet spaces by placing a bowl of coffee beans or a box of baking soda in it and shutting the door. Leave it overnight. It will absorb the smell and give you a fresh scented closet. This takes about one minute, so move on to number two.
- Clean a dirty microwave. Grab a lemon and cut it into fourths. Then place it in a bowl of water in the microwave and run it on high for about 2 minutes. The steam from the water combined with the citrus makes it super easy to wipe down the splatters, crusty old food, and other gunk that is on your microwave. Just take a rag and wipe it down. This whole process should take less than three minutes; you have three more to go, so move on to the next task.
- Clean your disposal. Disposals are great, but they get smelly. Dump the water and lemon from your microwave right into the disposal, and let it run. Make sure you have cold water running at the same time. It will freshen and clean it in a matter of a minute. So take those sixty seconds, you are now up to five minutes, and move on to the next task at hand.
- Rid your shower of hard water deposits. Grab a baggie, an elastic band, and a bottle of vinegar. Fill that baggie with vinegar, and put it around your shower head, using the elastic to hold it in place. Let it sit overnight, and simply remove it the next time you shower. Your shower will be clean of hard water stains and run like new. If your shower is not too bad, a rag and some vinegar will do the trick. This should take less than two minutes. You have now reached your seven minutes.
In just seven minutes, you gained a cleaner home. You can implement all kinds of fast and easy cleaning tricks into your busy schedule to keep a nice clean home without feeling like you are spending hours cleaning.
For example, put some baking soda on the carpet and let it sit for a while, then vacuum it up for a fresher smelling carpet, or use baking soda and vinegar to clean out drains. Take the time you have on the phone or between appointments and organize a drawer, disinfect a garbage can, or dust a ceiling fan.
