I have always been a fan of smoothies. Back in July, I started this green smoothie kick and haven’t stopped. I like to replace one or two meals each day with a green smoothie – it’s easy to make and I’m a bit lazy about food prep so this is a perfect union. I make three 16 oz servings of my favorite green smoothie:
I have another green smoothie that I have been making that I am also very much in love with. It is the Chocolate Covered Cherry Green Smoothie. With only five ingredients, this one is easy and so tasty.
- 2 cups of greens
- 2 cups of water
- 2 cups of frozen cherries
- 1 banana
- 2 T Cocoa Powder
- 1 scoop of Protein Powder
Directions
Blend greens with water first, then add the rest of the ingredients and blend well. Easy peasy!

I just got on the smoothie band wagon yesterday, but with fruit and yogurt.. I’ve tried adding greens but it’s weird to me. I am hoping I can outgrow that and start to tolerate them.

I had to check out the Chocolate Covered Cherry Green Smoothie .because while i DO love Chocolate, Cherries and Greens ~ somehow I couldn’t imagine it SO, okay, I came, I saw, I re-pinned and I’m commenting. And NOW I still have to TRY IT ~ because (while it looks very yummy) I still cannot imagine how it can possibly taste. I keep you posted!

I”ll be honest. I got used to the original green smoothie recipe first. I started making this recipe about a month or two later. I loved it, but I was used to the flavor of green smoothies. My kids hate the Chocolate one. The cocoa powder isn’t as sweet as you’d think. But I seriously love making it. Keep me updated on how you like it!
