My son has started middle school and my daughter has just begun high school! It’s always so hard to believe how quickly they are growing up. The days have felt slow, yes, but the years have flown by. I started this blog when Isabella was a baby as a way to keep my family updated on how she was doing. When I look back at those first year’s blog posts it’s truly a walk down memory lane.
Now that the kids are tween/teen age, I am constantly asking them to practice kindness. I do not want mean kids. I really do want them to be kind. I try to model kindness in everyday life in the home and out in public. My prayer is that my kids are filled with God’s spirit and will choose kindness day by day. (Please, Lord Jesus!)
Kindness in the Bible
There are many Bible verses about kindness and being kind. These six happen to be my favorite:
- Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you. Ephesians 4:32
- Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. 1 Corinthians 13:4-7
- Put on then, as God’s chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience. Colossians 3:12
- But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness. Galatians 5: 22
- He has told you, O man, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God? Micah 6:8
- Whoever pursues righteousness and kindness will find life, righteousness, and honor. Proverbs 21: 21
