I just got my email invitation to our church Women's Ministry Spring Day. We get to hear a great female speaker minister to us and worship together for an entire day. I look forward to it every year. Now that my kids are getting older, I am excited to take advantage of women's ministry events near me. Are you involved in your local women's ministry? I think women's ministry is so important. As women, it is not unusual to put ourselves last. Our husbands, our kids, our church, our friends - they … [Read more...]
8 Ways to Make Family Worship Come Alive
Do you believe that regular family worship time, spent together each day, can drastically change your home? I sure do. Life gets busy. I know. There are days we have missed family worship too. But, I cannot say it more plainly - family worship is essential. It helps our children learn the way they should walk as the grow up -- to love God, to follow God, and to live for Him. I grew up in a Christian home. My mom read us a devotional each morning and usually each evening. We sat and listened and … [Read more...]
8 Things You Can Do For World Water Day
You know that water is a necessary resource for us all to be alive, right? Sadly, 748 million people lack access to clean water! {That number is the equivalent of nearly two and a half times the United States population.} That should break your heart. It breaks mine. To address this crisis and to acknowledge water’s essential presence on the earth, the United Nations General Assembly declared March 22 as World Water Day in 1993. How You Can Be a Confident Mom
I can honestly say I've never felt super confident in this role of mother. Christian Parenting: Creating a Legacy
I always say that parenting is hard stuff. 'Cause it is. Truly. We all want to raise great kids who'll become good adults. But, as a Christian parent we also want to raise them knowing who God is; having a relationship with Jesus. We compete with so many things this day and age. Our kids are busier than ever and have many things vying for their attention. What's a parent to do? This is why I appreciate this book from Dr. Dobson. I've appreciated Dobson's ministry to families and this book is … [Read more...]
For All My Superhero Fans: The Greatest Superhero Ever!
My kids love anything superhero. Who am I kidding, I love anything superhero too. It is not unusual to find my kids with homemade capes on. My son has two generic superhero style cape shirts. He likes to "fly" around the house. He says, "I'm flying like Jesus." It is so cute to see. My daughter recently watched a superhero style cartoon on Netflix for the first time and she is now a big superhero fan as well. Are there superhero fans in your home? Here are some great gift ideas for the … [Read more...]
Children’s Ministry {because it changes lives}
I grew up driving an hour north, bypassing several churches, to attend a small church on a neighboring Native American reservation. With less than 30 people in attendance, it was the church where I learned about who God was, how much He loves me, and how He changes lives. It was also the church I decided to be baptized in when I was 14. Now, my husband is overseeing outreach efforts of about 100 churches here in Western Washington. He speaks at a different church almost every week. Instead … [Read more...]
