While we are visiting Montreal we took a visit to Mont-Royal.Thankfully the parking meters were in English as well as French (this is not the case in all of Montreal). Walking in this green, serene, and beautiful park was a big highlight of the week for me.The smell of wet grass, trees and bushes was overwhelming and sweet. It reminded me of fall weather and most especially of home in the Pacific Northwest.Though, Montreal is a big city this piece of it, makes you feel like you are in the woods … [Read more...]
Speaking French
sourceMy Princess does not want to do it.Many people are trying to get her to speak French, but she said she is afraid. On the way home on our second day here, she said, "I don't want them to make me speak English." I realized she meant French. She tried to copy the way it sounds tonight when she explained to us that she didn't want to talk like that. It didn't sound French though it did sound like babbling. It must be strange for her, literally everyone speaks French. (Though … [Read more...]

Flower Girl Dress
My Princess was in her first wedding this weekend. School Questions
While we were in Lancaster County, we visited the Amish Village. It was so much fun taking a tour of the house and grounds and learning more about how the Amish live. One building on the grounds was the Amish School House. My Princess really loved going in that building and sitting in the old fashioned desks. She asked her daddy to sit at the teacher's desk and pretend to be the teacher. She, of course, was the student.Daddy: "Do you have any questions, student?"Princess: "How do you fight bad … [Read more...]
Lancaster County, Pennsylvania
For our big 12 year anniversary, we decided to head up to Lancaster County, Pennsylvania and visit the Amish. It was so much fun! We LOVED it! The first time we saw the Amish riding in a buggy in front of our car, we got quite excited. I quickly snapped a picture from my car: We went to an Amish Village, toured an Amish home, ate at an authentic Amish restaurant, rode an Amish buggy, toured an Amish farm, and at the end of the day ate some homemade ice cream. Here is our fun day in … [Read more...]
Coney Island Family Fun
As we drove over the bridge into Brooklyn, we scanned the distance for the Statue of Liberty. Through the haze we just could not see her. Then from the back seat my Princess yelled, “I see her! She is green!”Sure enough, we located her too. Lady Liberty in the far distance to the left. A great start of the day in Brooklyn, New York. I won’t lie, the 2.5 hour drive was not very fun. Our iPod apps and The Lion King soundtrack did save us for a little while, but road trips with a 3 year … [Read more...]
