Heart Failure
In the midst of a sick baby (again!), we are having a serious family medical crisis. My sister in law Julie went into cardiac arrest Wednesday. After reviving her erratic heart, the hospital put her on ice and into a coma to reduce the damage to her brain. This more recent practice has had amazing results with patients who had no heartbeat for even 20 minutes or more! My own heart is hurting because not only am I stuck here in Washington with a sick baby but I feel like there is no way to help. … [Read more...]

Hey! I am a Good Mother, Right?
We get prayer requests turned in during our seminars. I usually type them up in one file and email it to the local pastor we are working with. This last week we had a few prayer requests turned in about children: Children in trouble. Children whose parents are hooked on meth. Children who won't let their parents see the grand kids. Children who left the church. Which has convicted me once more. I need to be really praying for these two children of mine. Each day it seems that … [Read more...]
Following Christ in Arkansas
We have had two small seminars this year. Two small towns with two small crowds. When you are moving your family around, missing out on family events and cultivating friendships, having a small seminar can be difficult. I try not to think, "I am displacing my family for this?" But it is a frequent thought in my head. Shame faced a peek around hoping God understands my frustration. Then, I am reminded how my husband's life was changed and my life as well by The Message of an awesome God. {I am … [Read more...]
The Ugly Cry
After I had it out with God, after a long week of teething, an eye infection and a stomach bug, I really thought my Little Man would not get sick too. I mean God couldn't possibly allow a baby to get a stomach bug. Babies cannot puke and have diarrhea for 48 hours straight, right? When my Little Man woke up and vomited three times and also had terrible diarrhea, I knew. He caught the bug. I was angry. Here we are living by the beach and we can't get out. I begged God to protect him. But … [Read more...]
