I got that line from John and Kate Plus Eight, and thought it was funny. Seriously though, I may possibly be going crazy. The last two days, Isabella has been screaming, constantly. So yesterday at lunch, I screamed too. (I know, I know, I am probably just perpetuating the behavior, but I couldn't help it. Her screaming was just about the most annoying noise I could handle at the time.) So she stopped screaming, looked at mommy with a frown (she has started making these crazy frown faces), and … [Read more...]
Late Night Blogging
Do you ever have a list of things in your head that you want to blog about? I do. All the time. The problem is I often forget. I need to write them down. Thank goodness for late night blogging. Today, is the second day that Isabella has been sitting on her potty trainer toilet and pretending to go to the bathroom. She wants the toilet paper to wipe, so I give her one square and she pretends to wipe then she puts her square in her toilet. It is so funny to see. By the way, in Washington, … [Read more...]
Obama, Obama, Obama
I was looking at the Sunday paper this morning and on the cover of the Parade Magazine insert was a picture of President Elect Obama. I showed Isabella the picture and I said, "this is president Obama, can you say Obama?" Then I continued to point at the picture saying, "Obama". So out of her mouth came "mama", which I said, "no, it is Obama", stressing the "O" sound. So she said, as clear as day, much to the delight of daddy, "Obama". My parents and sister are in D.C. today, they will get to be … [Read more...]
Sunshine State
This is why people live in California. It was 70 degrees today here in Colfax. I wore a new pair of shorts (bought them at the after season sale at Macy's for only $4.79. Check out their sales this week; they are having an extra 40% off clearance)! Isabella loves the park in Meadow Vista. There is a swing, which she loves and slides. Steps she can crawl on are very popular right now. After writing her top 10 I realized there are more things I wanted to add to the list, so … [Read more...]
Great Grandma Charlotte
I have one memory of visiting my great grandmother; it is a very hazy memory at best, but I do remember being scared of her. She was very old and wrinkled laying in a bed. I wish that I knew more of her. She was the Seventh-day Adventist in our family. Her faith influenced my uncles and aunts, it influenced my own mother and our life. Isabella was able to visit her great grandma last week on our trip to Southern California. We had a great visit. Grandma Charlotte loved seeing Isabella … [Read more...]
Socializing and Pooping
Isabella is 8 weeks old this week! This week she was sitting in her swing and she smiled and cooed for the first time at a toy! The fish mobile that is part of the swing made her very happy. I was in the kitchen and I heard her and it was so exciting for me to hear that sound. So later that day I played with a blue and green doggie rattle with her and she smiled and cooed again! I know these things don't sound that exciting, but to me they are wonderful. She is socializing with us! On … [Read more...]
