A Baby Story
Welcome to the world, Nathanael - or Nate the great as grandma calls you! I did it again, a natural birth. But this time? It was very hard. I didn't think I could do it... At 9pm the night before, I started having light contractions every 25 minutes. This went on through the night. By 4am they were about 10 minutes apart. I never told you all this but I was Group B Strep positive. The midwife wanted me to go in if my water broke or when my labor was 5 minutes apart. Right away - so I could … [Read more...]
Canker Sore Home Remedies
My Princess got a canker sore this last week. She was miserable. It was her first one. Those small little owies can be painful. I wish I could have taken it for her. Don't you just hate when your children are in pain? I read that if a parent suffers with canker sores the child has a 90% chance of getting canker sores as well. She also likes tomatoes on her Subway sandwiches and veggie burgers, but she has never eaten a tomato alone. I gave her a small piece and she LOVED it! In … [Read more...]

Part Two of Natural Childbirth - our birthing story. After waking up in the early morning hours and realizing that yes, I was in labor, I was excited. That morning as I lounged in pajamas, I ate some curried vegetables with rice (leftovers) and walked around the house. My husband and I meticulously recorded each contraction. As they got closer together and more painful, I secretly wondered if I could do this naturally or not. At 1pm when the contractions were regularly coming 2 minutes … [Read more...]

Peach Recipes
We have peaches! Yes, the peaches here in Cecil County are AMAZING! You know the kind right? Fresh, ripe, juicy. The kind of peach that squirts juice in the eye of the person sitting next to you and drips down your chin. The hubster came home with $12 in peaches from a local produce stand. Let me tell you, that is a lot of peaches. So while wasting enjoying my time on Pinterest late at night (who needs sleep, right?) I found some great peach … [Read more...]
