This is a sponsored post. All opinions are mine alone. We have been getting beautifully warm weather here in Western Washington. I am loving it! But even more so, my kids have been loving it. How has the weather been this Spring for you? About Anchors Away Pirate Ship Creative play and active play come together in … [Read more...]
He Loves His New Pirate Ship Fort!
There are certain things that my children play on a weekly basis in our home; building forts is one of those things. They love forts - they destroy my living room quite regularly by taking off all the cushions, bringing in the bar stools and finding every single unused blanket in our house. Their forts get quite elaborate when daddy joins in the fun too. To be honest, the mess drives me batty. But, I let them have their fun and usually leave it up for at least one day. After that I can't take it … [Read more...]

LEGO fan in the house? Make a MiniFigure LEGO Card FREE!
My Princess was given LEGO Friends last year for Christmas. At that time, she wasn't quite into LEGO toys yet. But over the course of one year that completely changed. Then, a couple months ago, I saw her pull out her LEGO Friends and start putting together amazing creations from a little book. No one had to help her. She didn't even ask. I was impressed. Now, this Christmas she … [Read more...]
Why Education is Important
I grew up in a Native American home on a Native American reservation. My grandparents were alcoholics and dirt poor for most of my dad's childhood - and despite that my dad was smart and did very well in school. When I was born, my parents had moved off our reservation and my dad went to college. Even at the young age of 20, my parents realized that they wanted more for their daughter. A new life. A life better than the one they had when they were kids. We moved back to our reservation when … [Read more...]

These dolls are just so cool. Educate Girls with a Native American Doll
I've talked about how I am Native American (just over half, because people usually ask that) on the blog before. My kids and I are registered members of our small reservation here in Washington state. I lived the first 20 years of my life on the rez, left with my hubby to California for ten years and then moved back. We are within 2 miles of most of my large extended family which is nice. We are also connected to a whole community of tribal members, many of whom are friends that are closer than … [Read more...]
